Nashville Film Festival Adds Exciting New Films for 2024

The Nashville Film Festival announced new programming additions, including Jason Reitman's "Saturday Night" as the 2024 Centerpiece Presentation.

Nashville, Tenn. (September 10, 2024) – The Nashville Film Festival (NashFilm) has announced additional titles for its highly anticipated 55th annual festival. Among the five new special presentations, the 2024 Centerpiece Presentation will be Sony Pictures Entertainment’s “Saturday Night,” directed by Jason Reitman and written by Gil Kenan and Reitman.

The festival, known for its celebration of film, music, and culture, will feature over 150 films. The newly announced titles include:

**Saturday Night** | Directed by Jason Reitman | Starring: Gabriel LaBelle, Rachel Sennott, Cory Michael Smith, Ella Hunt, Dylan O’Brien, Emily Fairn, Matt Wood, Lamorne Morris, Kim Matula, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Braun, Cooper Hoffman, Andrew Barth Feldman, Kaia Gerber, Tommy Dewey, Willem Dafoe, Matthew Rhys, J.K. Simmons, Jon Batiste, and Naomi McPherson.

Set in 1975, “Saturday Night” follows the behind-the-scenes story of the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live. The film will screen at the Regal Green Hills on September 21 at 8:30 p.m.

**My Old Ass** | Written and Directed by Megan Park | Starring: Maisy Stella, Percy Hynes White, Maddie Ziegler, Kerrice Brooks, and Aubrey Plaza.

A mushroom trip leads Elliott to confront her 39-year-old self, played by Aubrey Plaza. The film will screen at Soho House Nashville on September 21 at 8 p.m.

**Superboys of Malegaon** | Directed by Reema Kagti | Starring: Adarsh Gourav, Anuj Singh Duhan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Manjiri Pupula, and more.

This Hindi-language film tells the story of aspiring filmmaker Nashir Shaikh and his friends making a film in Malegaon. It will screen at the Belcourt Theater on September 25 at 11 a.m.

**Unstoppable** | Directed by William Goldenberg | Starring: Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, Michael Pena, and more.

Produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, “Unstoppable” is a biographical sports drama about wrestler Anthony Robles. It will screen at the Regal Green Hills on September 22 at 8 p.m.

**Amber Alert** | Directed by Kerry Bellessa | Starring: Hayden Panettiere, Tyler James Williams, Kevin Dunn, and more.

An ordinary rideshare turns into a race against time when Jaq and Shane try to save an abducted child. The film will screen at the Regal Green Hills on September 24 at 9 p.m., followed by a Q&A with director Kerry Bellessa.

NashFilm will also screen the “Best of the Fest,” with winning films selected by juries and audiences, including categories such as New Directors Feature, Documentary Feature, Music Documentary Feature, and more.
