Nashville Emergency Communications Promotes Two to Supervisors

Two women promoted to supervisory roles at Nashville's Department of Emergency Communications.

The Nashville Department of Emergency Communications (DEC) has announced the promotion of two esteemed emergency telecommunicators to the rank of emergency communications supervisor, effective September 14, 2024.

Jennifer Reynolds, a 16-year veteran of the DEC, will lead the Training Division, which is responsible for the initial and continued education of all personnel. Jimmie Shouse, a 10-year veteran, has been assigned to the Operations Division and will oversee night shift 911 and radio operations personnel.

Director Steve Martini commented on the promotions, stating, “Our supervisors serve as the first line of support to our heroes under the headset. Ensuring situational awareness between precincts and response agencies saves seconds, which saves lives.”

The DEC, comprising 245 personnel, remains committed to bringing calm to chaos, order to disorder, and clarity to confusion as Nashville’s first responders.
