Motorcyclist Identified in Fatal Murfreesboro Crash

Michael Jenkins, 69, was identified as the motorcyclist who died in a crash on Broad Street.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – (September 25, 2024) The motorcyclist who died in a collision on Broad Street over the weekend has been identified as Michael Jenkins, 69, of La Vergne. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, September 21, at approximately 1:46 a.m.

Jenkins was riding his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Broad Street when it collided with a 2018 Toyota Rav4. Preliminary investigations indicate that the SUV, attempting to make a left turn onto Singer Road, failed to yield the right of way to Jenkins’ motorcycle.

Despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Jenkins was pronounced deceased shortly after being transported to the hospital. Investigators noted that Jenkins’ helmet did not include a face shield.

The crash remains under investigation by the FACT team. Authorities remind drivers to “Look Twice” for motorcycles, bicyclists, and pedestrians to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Missouri Man Dies in I-24 Crash

Michael Snyder, 61, from El Dorado Springs, Missouri, was identified as the victim of a fatal crash on I-24 West near Whites Creek Pike on Tuesday night. The Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving, while towing a camper trailer, left the roadway and overturned. Snyder and his wife were taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. His wife remains in stable condition.
