Missing Man’s Body Recovered from Cumberland River

Authorities identify a drowning victim as a missing man reported on Friday.

The apparent drowning victim recovered late Sunday afternoon in the Cumberland River near Baptist World Center Drive has been identified as James Anthony Taylor, 59. Taylor was reported missing on Friday night by his sister after the two had been fishing along the riverbank.

Taylor’s sister mentioned she had left to get food from her home, and upon her return, when her calls to him went unanswered, she found Taylor’s belongings on the riverbank, but he was nowhere to be found.

A boater located Taylor’s body in the river on Sunday. An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
