Metro Council Hosts 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Metro Council to hold annual 9/11 remembrance event on September 11.

On Wednesday, September 11, the Metro Council Members and Vice Mayor Angie Henderson will participate in an annual 9/11 remembrance event. The gathering, organized alongside the Veterans Caucus of the Metro Council, will commence at 7:45 a.m. on the front steps of the Historic Courthouse and City Hall with a moment of silence and reflection.

Following the initial gathering, at 8:00 a.m., Council Members will walk together down 3rd Avenue to the corner of Symphony Place. Here, they will attend the official 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony hosted by the IAFF Local 140 Firefighter’s Union and the Metro Nashville Fire Department. During the ceremony, Vice Mayor Henderson will join the Mayor, Director Chief William Swann, and IAFF Local 140 Union President Danny Yates in laying a wreath at the Fallen Firefighter Memorial.
