The man killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday at 8:10 p.m. on Brick Church Pike at Woodfolk Drive has been identified as Hirsi Elmi, 43, of Nashville.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Elmi was driving his Toyota Camry south on Brick Church Pike when, for reasons unknown, he veered to the right and collided with a traffic light pole. Elmi was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
No evidence of impairment was found at the scene.

Missouri Man Killed in I-24 Crash
Michael Snyder, a 61-year-old man from El Dorado Springs, Missouri, was identified as the victim in a fatal crash on I-24 West near Whites Creek Pike. Snyder and his wife were towing a camper trailer when their Chevrolet Tahoe left the roadway and overturned. Snyder died at Skyline Medical Center, while his wife was admitted in stable condition.
