NASHVILLE, TN – 17 Sept. 2024: Kurplunk, the new comedy music act founded by Kurt Kirton, is set to make a splash with their debut album “Splashback.” Kirton, who has spent nearly three decades in Nashville and 27 years as an EDM artist, is venturing into the comedy music scene. With a mix of parodies and original songs, Kurplunk aims to bring humor to the stage.
“Life is stressful, and people need a laugh,” Kirton said. “This album not only encompasses potty humor but also llamas, funny fruits, and those Haribo Sugar Free Gummi bears. Victims who’ve eaten too many know what I mean!”

Kirton has expanded his production skills to cover a variety of genres for this album, including country, bluegrass, jazz, and rock. “It was quite a challenge to stretch my production skills beyond the dance and pop realm, but the end result really complements each song and keeps listeners interested,” he added.
Kurplunk’s album release concert is scheduled for October 24th in Nashville. The event will also feature a dance remix of their next single. Joining Kurplunk on stage will be Steve Goodie, a Nashville comedy artist known for his appearances on Comedy Central and Showtime. Goodie has toured the US and Scotland with his “Al! The Weird Tribute” show and is a regular on The Dr. Demento Show.
The concert will also include performances by Bucky Habanero, known for hits like “Patches” and “Cold Turkey,” and artist/vlogger/dancer Omni Maercklein of Music City Gents. Both Kurplunk and Goodie will use accompanying videos to enhance their performances.
