Joel Hernandez Sought for 2023 Nashville Murder

Joel Hernandez is wanted for the murder of Majok Chol in Nashville on June 15, 2023.

More than a year of investigation into the June 15, 2023, fatal shooting of Nashvillian Majok Chol, 24, has led to the indictment of Joel Hernandez, 24, on a charge of first-degree murder. Hernandez, whose last known residence was in Smyrna, is currently a fugitive. Authorities are urging anyone with information on Hernandez’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

Chol was found dead at 12:15 a.m. behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger parked in the middle of the street on Tusculum Court. He was reportedly meeting with the occupant of another vehicle at the time. The investigation, led by Detective Joseph Patricio, identified Hernandez as the suspect in the case.

Nashville Man Sentenced for 2018 Armed Robbery

Terrell Stevenson, a 35-year-old from Nashville, was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for armed robberies committed on Halloween night in 2018. He was found guilty of multiple charges, including Hobbs Act Robbery and brandishing a firearm, following a jury trial in September 2023.
