Participants in this webinar will gain valuable insights into state tax obligations for new businesses in Tennessee. The session will also cover various resources that may benefit their business operations. This quarterly webinar addresses essential topics such as tax registration, sales and use tax, business tax, franchise and excise taxes, and guidance on how to seek assistance from the Department of Revenue and other relevant state agencies.

The Department of Revenue is responsible for administering state tax laws, motor vehicle title and registration laws, and collecting the associated taxes and fees. The department collects approximately 87 percent of the total state revenue. In the 2024 fiscal year, it amassed $22.2 billion in state taxes and fees and over $4.7 billion in taxes and fees for local governments.
