The driver of a BMW S35I involved in Tuesday’s 11 p.m. crash with a semi-truck on I-40 West near Fesslers Lane has died. Preliminary investigations indicate that the semi was traveling westbound and slowed down with traffic.
The BMW sedan, driven by a 44-year-old man from Mt. Juliet, collided with the back of the semi, going completely under the trailer. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Efforts are currently underway to notify his family. There were no signs of impairment from either driver at the scene.
