Arrest Made in Ongoing Auto Burglary Investigation

An 18-year-old was arrested, and a stolen car was recovered in Nashville.

Madison Precinct officers observed a blue Kia Optima on Anderson Lane at Snow Avenue early Wednesday morning, around 3 a.m. The vehicle matched the description of one used in several auto burglaries. Upon confirming that the car was reported stolen in Nashville two days prior, officers attempted to stop it. However, the driver fled the scene.

The pursuit continued onto Dickerson Pike, where an East Precinct officer successfully deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle. The Kia eventually crashed into building F at the Fallbrook Apartments, located at 345 Dellway Villa Road. The occupants of the car then fled on foot.

Marquez Reed, 18, was apprehended and taken into custody. He is facing charges of vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools, and evading arrest. Reed is currently held on a $46,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify the other individuals involved and their connection to the auto burglaries.
