A 9th-grade student from RePublic High School was apprehended this afternoon by the Rapid School Safety Team. This arrest came after the student posted threats on Instagram targeting both RePublic and Whites Creek High School within the last 24 hours. The 15-year-old has been charged with making a threat of mass violence and false reporting.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) emphasizes the seriousness with which it treats threats against schools, special events, and businesses. Those identified as responsible for such threats will face prosecution.
