Vice Mayor Angie Henderson has announced the new chairmanships for the Metro Council Standing Committees for 2024-2025.

Vice Mayor Angie Henderson has announced the chairmanships for the Metro Council Standing Committees for the 2024-2025 term.

The chairs for the committees are as follows:

– Budget and Finance: Delishia Porterfield

– Transportation and Infrastructure: Sean Parker

– Public Health and Safety: Erin Evans

– Government Operations and Regulations: Olivia Hill

– Arts, Parks, Libraries, and Entertainment: Brenda Gadd

– Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections: Jeff Preptit

– Charter Revision: Clay Capp

Jennifer Gamble will continue her role as the Planning and Zoning Committee Chair, having been elected to a two-year term by the Council. Additionally, the Ad Hoc East Bank Committee, established on October 27, 2023, will be chaired by Quinn Evans Segall.

The newly appointed chairs will preside over their first meetings on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. They have also been instructed to select a vice chair by Monday, September 16, 2024.

In a memo to the Metro Council, Vice Mayor Henderson expressed her gratitude to the outgoing 2023-2024 committee chairs. Each outgoing chair has prepared a transition memo to help maintain the Council’s institutional memory and continuity. “I am grateful to those members who have agreed to retain or accept a leadership role for the coming year,” said Henderson.
