Two Teens Injured in Bell Road Shooting

Two 17-year-old females were injured in a drive-by shooting on Bell Road.

Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division are currently working to identify the individual responsible for a shooting that occurred on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. The incident involved shots being fired from a sedan into another vehicle, injuring two 17-year-old females who were backseat passengers. The shooting took place while both vehicles were traveling on Bell Road near Woodland Pointe Drive.

The driver of the targeted vehicle, an 18-year-old female, and her 17-year-old front seat passenger were not injured. They transported the injured teens to what they believed to be the nearest hospital, the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at 3901 Central Pike, and then called 911. Emergency medical services arrived and transferred the injured passengers to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. One of the teens sustained a shoulder wound with non-critical injuries, while the other was seriously injured after being struck once.

The teens reported that they were en route to the Wilson County Fair when they noticed the suspect vehicle driving erratically. The two vehicles reportedly passed each other several times before the shots were fired.

Motorcyclist and Child Die in I-40 Accident

A motorcyclist and a 3-year-old girl were killed in a collision on I-40 West near the Bellevue Newsom Station exit on Sunday night. The accident occurred when Delmas Wiseman III, driving a 2003 Buick sedan, lost control and skidded into the westbound lanes, leading to a fatal crash with a motorcyclist. The young girl was not in a safety seat, and two other children in the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
