Two Teens Arrested in Nashville’s First 2024 Murder

Two teens have been arrested in connection with the first murder in Nashville for 2024.

TITANS (The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings) detectives recently arrested two teenagers in connection with the fatal shooting of William Rafael Silva, which occurred on January 2, 2024. The incident marks Nashville’s first murder of the year.

Htet Sar, 18, was apprehended in Antioch, and Gabriel Melo-Beltran, 18, was taken into custody in Murfreesboro. Both were 17 years old at the time of the crime and are being charged in Juvenile Court.

The investigation, led by Homicide Detective Miranda Vaughan, revealed that Silva was shot during a robbery at the intersection of Tusculum Court and Ocala Drive. Silva was found with multiple bullet wounds after being dropped off at Southern Hills Medical Center at 1 a.m. on January 2. He succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

19-Year-Old Arrested for Storefront Burglaries

A 19-year-old man, Thomas Membreno-Rodriquez, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and vandalism after a series of storefront burglaries in which vehicles were used to break into businesses.
