Jackson, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will implement temporary lane closures on SR 128 over Pickwick Dam Bridge in the coming weeks. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of both workers and the motoring public during bridge maintenance.
Starting August 19, 2024, the lane closures will occur from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. The closures will be flagged intermittently in the north and southbound lanes, with at least one lane remaining open at all times.
Drivers are encouraged to use all available motorist information tools and to check travel conditions prior to departure. It is important to remember not to tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while driving.
The Move Over Law, enacted in 2006, mandates that drivers must move over for stopped emergency vehicles with flashing lights. Violating this law in Tennessee can result in up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.
For the latest updates on construction activity and traffic conditions, visit the TDOT SmartWay Map. Drivers can also call 511 for statewide travel information.
