Shooting Victim Arrested for July Armed Robbery

Samuel Giddens, injured in a recent shooting, was arrested for a July armed robbery.

Specialized Investigations Division detectives are currently looking into a recent shooting on Whispering Hills Drive that injured Samuel Giddens, a 26-year-old convicted felon with outstanding aggravated robbery warrants.

Giddens was driven to Southern Hills Hospital in a Hyundai Elantra after being shot once in the leg. Upon arrival, he provided a fake name and date of birth, claiming he was shot by two unknown men. Preliminary investigations revealed that two armed suspects fired several shots, striking Giddens, an apartment window, and a vehicle in the parking lot of the complex. Images of the suspects have been released, and anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

In July, Giddens was identified as one of three suspects who allegedly pistol-whipped a man in his Antioch home before stealing his Infiniti Q60. The victim, an acquaintance of Giddens, sustained injuries that now inhibit his ability to speak or open his mouth properly. The stolen Infiniti was later recovered by Robbery Operations detectives.

After receiving treatment at the hospital, Giddens was booked on his outstanding warrants and charged with criminal impersonation. He remains jailed on a $155,000 bond. During the investigation, it was discovered that Kendric Williams, 28, a convicted felon and the passenger of the Elantra, hid two firearms underneath the front tire after the vehicle was parked at the hospital. Williams was arrested on two counts of being a felon in possession of weapons and has since been released on a $30,000 bond.
