The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is continuing its efforts to reestablish safe and reliable transportation on River Trace, located off State Route 12.
As mitigation plans develop, NDOT personnel conduct regular site visits to evaluate roadway and site conditions, ensuring that traffic control measures are in place and functional. To further enhance these plans, NDOT is commissioning additional Geotech resources, similar to those used by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) for projects involving exposed rockface stability.
A meeting with the contractor and other engineering partners is scheduled for August 7, 2024, and additional updates will be provided before the end of next week. NDOT encourages the public to report any conditions of concern to Metro’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) by email at [email protected] or by phone at 615-862-8530. The OEM operates 24/7 and is the most expedient way to notify NDOT of needed actions.
Local residential traffic can still access the roadway, while people biking are advised to use Ashland City Highway/Tennessee Highway 12 as an alternative route. For more details, refer to the River Trace Temporary Closure and Detour Map.
