Public Meetings on Consolidated Plan Scheduled

The City will hold public meetings for the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan on Sept. 4 and 10, 2024.

The City’s Housing and Neighborhood Development Department has announced two public meetings to discuss the development of the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan. Residents are encouraged to participate and provide their feedback on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., or on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Public Works Service Center, located at 3131 Morris Avenue.

The agenda for both meetings will be identical. Zoom links for virtual participation will be available at KnoxvilleTN.gov/ConsolidatedPlan the day before each meeting. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback during the sessions.

Every five years, the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department undertakes this process to gather input from service providers and residents regarding Knoxville’s community development needs. The resulting plan will prioritize local funding for an anticipated $15 million over five years from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds will address affordable housing, homelessness, economic development, and other community development activities serving low- and moderate-income households. The plan is due to be submitted to HUD by May 15, 2025.

Residents can also provide feedback via email at [email protected] or [email protected], or by writing to Linda Rust, City of Knoxville Housing and Neighborhood Development Department, P.O. Box 1631, Knoxville, TN 37901.

The City of Knoxville is committed to ensuring meaningful access to its programs, services, and activities in compliance with Civil Rights Title VI and ADA Title II laws.
