NASHVILLE, TN (August 19, 2024) – Postino, the all-day restaurant and wine bar known for its welcoming hospitality and locally-inspired spaces, is set to open its first Tennessee location in Nashville this fall. The new establishment will be located in the 12 South neighborhood, next to Faherty and across from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, at 2317 12th Ave S.
The 3,780 square foot space will feature a 135-seat restaurant, including a 68-seat outdoor patio. Postino aims to create a casual and inviting atmosphere with its warm, come-as-you-are culture and eclectic design. The restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner, offering a wide variety of Tennessee craft brews, more than 30 wines by the glass, and seven cocktails.
Postino’s menu will include a selection of bruschetta, panini, salads, charcuterie boards, and other shareable items. The restaurant will also offer its popular happy hour specials, such as the $6 ’til 5pm deal, which includes all wines by the glass and pitchers of beer for $6 from opening until 5pm, and the $25 Bottle & Board on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
The design of the new location will pay homage to the historical tenant of the 12 South building, the South Eastern Radio & Television Institute, with an art wall dedicated to vintage TVs, inspired by MTV’s first music video, “Video Killed The Radio Star” by the Buggles.
“There is so much to love about Nashville and everyone on the Postino team is very excited to soon be a part of this thriving community,” said Postino Co-Founder and CEO Lauren Bailey. “We just knew that 12 South was a neighborhood that we wanted to be a part of.”
Postino takes its name from the Italian word for postman, in honor of the former 1940’s post office where the first Postino was established over 20 years ago. Each Postino location is unique to its neighborhood, and the Nashville location aims to integrate into the vibrant 12 South community.
The new Postino location is expected to become a popular spot for date nights, happy hours, and gatherings with friends and family. The restaurant’s interior will feature sophisticated mid-century modern furniture, quirky found objects, and art installations. It will also include rollup garage doors, custom walnut wine walls, and playlists designed to keep the atmosphere lively.
“We hope that Postino will serve as a go-to neighborhood hangout in 12 South and we look forward to seeing the friendly faces in Nashville,” Bailey says. “We can’t wait to showcase everything that Postino has to offer when we open our doors this fall.”
