Office of Homeless Services Offers Heat Relief

Free rides and bus passes for homeless during extreme heat in Nashville.

The Office of Homeless Services (OHS) in Nashville is launching a support initiative to assist those experiencing homelessness during extreme heat conditions. From August 26 to 30, the OHS will provide free cool rides, bus passes, and encampment support.

Individuals can request rides to cool locations, such as the Nashville Rescue Mission, between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. by calling 615-844-3399. These services include return trips to the original locations. OHS outreach workers will also distribute bus passes and other supportive services.

For weather and safety updates, individuals can call 615-862-6391. Additional resources and supportive services are available on the Extreme Heat Response and Patrols page.

This effort is part of a broader strategy by OHS to provide immediate relief and support to the homeless community during adverse weather conditions.
