Notice on Air Pollution Source Permit Application

Public comment period open for air pollution source permit application.

The Metro Public Health Department’s Air Pollution Control Division has received an application for the renewal and modification of a Part 70 Operating Permit (Title V Permit). The application pertains to an air pollution source and is governed by Section 13-5(h) of Regulation No. 13, which mandates public notification and a 30-day comment period before issuing any Part 70 Operating Permit.

Interested parties can review the application and draft permits at the Metro Public Health Department, Pollution Control Division, located at 2500 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee. For further details, please contact John Finke at (615) 340-5653. Public comments must be submitted to the Pollution Control office within 30 days from the notice date. A public hearing will be scheduled before issuing any Part 70 Operating Permit if requested in writing during the comment period, in accordance with Section 13-5(h)(1) of Regulation No. 13.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will conduct its 45-day review simultaneously with the public comment period. However, the deadline for submitting a citizen petition to object to the EPA administrator will be as if the 45-day review period begins after the public comment period ends. Information on the status of the EPA’s review and the petition deadline is available at the EPA website. If comments are received during the 30-day public comment period, the EPA’s review period will restart once all comments are addressed. Requests for ADA accommodations should be directed to Mr. Todd Baker at 615-340-0535.

For additional information, please email the Health Department.
