With shovels in hand, students at Napier Elementary School will break ground on Thursday, August 29, at 12:30 p.m. on an innovative outdoor learning space designed specifically for them. This project is a collaboration between the PNC Foundation and the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation.
A group of Napier students will be joined by MNPS Director of Schools Dr. Adrienne Battle, Napier Principal Whitney Russell, PNC Bank regional president Mike D. Johnson, and Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation President and CEO James Pond to inaugurate the construction project.
The outdoor learning space will feature a Storybook Trail, a vibrant area where students and families can read a familiar story together. Additionally, the space will include an outdoor classroom area and play equipment. Notably, the Storybook Trail will be the first of its kind at an elementary school in Tennessee.
