Specialized Investigations Division detectives recently arrested Albin Avdiu, who was wanted on outstanding warrants related to the August 5 shooting at 2517 Edge O Lake Drive. Detectives spotted Avdiu driving on Kendall Park Drive and followed him to the 2500 block of Murfreesboro Pike, where he appeared to be conducting hand-to-hand drug transactions. When officers attempted to apprehend him, Avdiu fled the scene.
Spike strips were deployed successfully, and a police helicopter tracked Avdiu’s vehicle until he lost control and crashed into a parked car on Lakeville Drive. He continued driving before abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot into a backyard on Griggs Place, where he was eventually taken into custody.
From Avdiu’s car, police recovered 4.7 grams of blue powder that tested positive for fentanyl, approximately 800-900 pills also testing positive for fentanyl, various other pills, and a loaded handgun. A subsequent search of Avdiu’s residence on Kendall Park Drive revealed two rifles, numerous loaded magazines, a money counter, and $7,210.50 in cash.
Avdiu faces charges for attempted murder and reckless endangerment related to the Edge O Lake shooting of a 30-year-old Nashville man. Additionally, he is charged with felony drug possession, evading arrest, and gun possession during the commission of a felony. He is currently held on a $385,000 bond.
