This closure includes the 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 services. Residents needing to report issues such as potholes or overgrown lots to 311 are encouraged to use the My Knoxville app, available for both iPhone and Android at KnoxvilleTN.gov/app. For a list of social services accessible through 211, residents can utilize the online chatbot at KnoxvilleTN.gov/chat or visit 211.org.

All residential garbage and recycling will continue as scheduled, so residents should place their carts at the curb by 7 p.m. the night before. Downtown trash and recycling services will also operate on their regular schedule throughout the Labor Day weekend.

The City’s Solid Waste Facility located at 1033 Elm Street will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Monday, Sept. 2. For more information, visit KnoxvilleTN.gov/solidwaste.

While the city’s five recycling centers will be open, Goodwill attendants will not be available to receive household goods donations on Monday, Sept. 2. The Knoxville Compost Project accepts qualifying food scraps for composting at three of these locations as well as the Market Square Farmers’ Market. For more details, visit KnoxvilleTN.gov/compost.

City outdoor pools will operate on their regular schedules over the weekend before closing for the season. The Ed Cothren Pool (1737 Reynolds St.) and Inskip Pool (4204 Bruhin Road) will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Monday, and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission costs are $3 per person at Ed Cothren and $4 at Inskip.

Doggie Dip Nights will be held at Inskip Pool on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Thursday, Sept. 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $5 per adult and $5 per dog, with a limit of two dogs per person.
