Vehicle Crimes detectives apprehended one of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s most wanted suspects yesterday. Thaddous Baskette, a 30-year-old resident of Joelton, was arrested on Lebanon Pike at Central Pike following an extensive crime spree over the past two months.
Baskette is accused of stealing a Dodge Ram pickup truck on June 21 on Greenbrier Road. During his escape, he allegedly ran over the vehicle’s owner, causing severe injuries that required more than a week of hospitalization. Along with the truck, Baskette is reported to have stolen the victim’s credit cards, which were later used at the Zmart on Dickerson Pike. Surveillance footage from the store played a key role in identifying Baskette.
In July, Baskette’s alleged criminal activities continued with the theft of a Mack dump truck and tools from Harper Road, a Honda four-wheeler from Cato Road, and an attempted theft of a Ford Ranger from another residence on Cato Road.
At the time of his arrest, Baskette was found in possession of a glass crack pipe and marijuana. He is currently facing 13 outstanding arrest warrants, including charges for especially aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, trespassing, vandalism, and multiple vehicle thefts. He is being held on a $163,000 bond.
