Homicide detectives are actively pursuing leads in the fatal shooting of Christopher Rhodes, 25, which occurred on Saturday night in the parking lot of his apartment at 5800 Maudina Avenue.
Officers were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. and discovered Rhodes with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Witnesses have indicated that the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute.
According to reports, Rhodes and his girlfriend were moving furniture into their apartment when they were confronted by the suspect. A physical altercation ensued between Rhodes and the suspect, which led to the shooting. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

Arrest Warrant Issued for Edgehill Fatal Shooting
An arrest warrant has been issued for Ronald Lamont Russell Jr. in connection with the fatal shooting of James B. Cox III in the Edgehill community. The incident, captured on surveillance video, led to Cox’s death after being transported to a hospital. Russell, who suffers from schizophrenia, claimed he shot Cox over a mistaken belief that Cox had harmed his sister.
