NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 26, 2024)—The Frist Art Museum has released its exhibition schedule for 2025, featuring a variety of exhibitions that span different cultures, time periods, and artistic styles. The Ingram Gallery will host several notable shows, starting with Farm to Table: Art, Food, and Identity in the Age of Impressionism, which examines the relationship between art, gastronomy, and national identity in late 19th-century France. This exhibition will run from January 31 to May 4, 2025, and feature works by artists such as Rosa Bonheur and Claude Monet.
Running concurrently in the Ingram Gallery, Tennessee Harvest: 1870s–1920s will focus on local painters and their depiction of food and agriculture in Tennessee, providing a local counterpoint to the French works on display.
Another significant exhibition, Venice and the Ottoman Empire, will explore the relationship between these two Mediterranean powers from 1400 to 1800, featuring a wide range of media including glass, paintings, and textiles. This exhibition will be on view from May 29 to September 1, 2025.
The Upper-Level Galleries will feature David C. Driskell & Friends: Creativity, Collaboration, and Friendship from March 14 to June 1, 2025. This exhibition will highlight the artistic legacy of David C. Driskell and his relationships with other prominent Black artists. It will be shown concurrently with Kindred Spirits: Intergenerational Forms of Expression, 1966–1999, which explores the influence of Fisk University’s Art Department under Driskell’s leadership.
In addition, Fabric of a Nation: American Quilt Stories will be on display from June 27 to October 12, 2025, showcasing 50 quilts that illustrate the evolution of American culture and identity through textile art.
The Gordon Contemporary Artists Project Gallery will present exhibitions by Haitian American artists M. Florine Démosthène and Didier William from January 31 to May 4, 2025, and American painter Ellen Altfest from May 29 to September 1, 2025.
Rounding out the year’s schedule, New African Masquerades: Artistic Innovations and Collaborations will be on view from October 10, 2025, to January 4, 2026. This exhibition will highlight contemporary African masquerade artists and their innovative approaches.
Finally, Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-1964: Eyes of the Storm will offer a glimpse into the early days of Beatlemania through McCartney’s personal photographs, running from November 7, 2025, to January 26, 2026.

10th Annual Japanese Moon Viewing Festival
Cheekwood Estate & Gardens in Nashville will host its 10th annual Japanese Moon Viewing Festival on September 15, featuring tea ceremonies, musical performances, art activities, and cultural demonstrations in partnership with the Consulate-General of Japan and Japan American Society of Tennessee.
