A tragic accident occurred on I-40 West near Briley Parkway on Wednesday at around 10 p.m. The incident involved a 24-year-old driver, Taylor Burns, who had stopped her Chevrolet Prism in a lane of travel for reasons that remain unknown.
According to reports, a motorist driving an Acura TSX stated that a vehicle in front of her suddenly swerved to avoid the stopped Prism. The Acura driver was unable to stop in time and collided with the back of Burns’ vehicle.
Taylor Burns was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she later died due to her injuries. The 27-year-old driver of the Acura was also taken to Vanderbilt with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities reported no signs of impairment at the scene.

Arrest Warrants Issued in TSU Player’s Death
