Detectives Investigate Leads in Fatal Nashville Shooting

Detectives are following strong leads in a recent fatal shooting in Nashville.

Homicide detectives are actively pursuing strong leads in the investigation of a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday at 3:30 p.m. The incident, which took place in an alley off Hart and Creek Streets, resulted in the death of 41-year-old Christopher Walter. Authorities are currently working to notify his next-of-kin.

Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot and saw a man fleeing the scene on a moped. Officers responding to the call found Walter lying in the alley with a gunshot wound to his torso. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Walter, who resided in an encampment on Creek Street, had allegedly been accused of taking another man’s moped prior to the incident.

Charges Expected After Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Charges are expected following a motorcycle crash on Old Hickory Boulevard that resulted in the death of a 26-year-old passenger. The crash occurred when a speeding Suzuki motorcycle struck a Chevrolet Malibu turning into a Kroger parking lot. The motorcycle driver, Trevario Pillar, admitted to smoking marijuana earlier, and a blood sample was obtained. The Chevrolet driver showed no signs of impairment, and the investigation’s findings will be reviewed with the District Attorney’s Office.
