Homicide detectives are currently investigating the fatal shooting of Brandon Calloway, 23, which occurred at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday inside his residence located in the 3700 block of Brickmont Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim’s girlfriend performing CPR on Calloway, who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest. Officers continued to administer aid until paramedics arrived and transported Calloway to Skyline Medical Center, where he later died.
According to the victim’s girlfriend, she arrived home without a key, having recently lost it. While waiting for Calloway to let her in, an unknown individual appeared and fired a shot through the rear door of the residence. The girlfriend reported that she fired one round from her gun towards the suspect, who then fled towards a nearby wood line. Her gun was recovered at the scene, and a single bullet hole was observed passing through the rear doorway. Calloway appeared to have been standing behind the door when he was shot.
