The Citizens Fire Academy is now accepting applications, providing an opportunity for residents to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) and its services. The program spans four weeks and includes various interactive activities.
Participants in the academy will have the chance to try on firefighter turnout gear, climb a 65-foot aerial ladder, practice vehicle extrication techniques, take part in a firefighter ability test, and tour the dispatch center, among other activities.
The sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays, from October 22 through November 12, and will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
