Chief John Drake has been elected President of the Board of Directors for the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), a leading independent research organization focusing on critical issues in policing. The results were announced to the membership this week.
“I am honored to lead PERF’s Board as we carry on the important work of advancing law enforcement professionalism while delivering information on issues and cutting-edge practices in policing,” Chief Drake stated.
“John Drake exemplifies the qualities that will make him a great PERF president,” said Chuck Wexler, PERF’s Executive Director. “John’s commitment to best practices in policing and his strong engagement with the Nashville community reflect the values of our organization.”
PERF, based in Washington, D.C., has over 3,000 members, all of whom lead law enforcement agencies. The current Board of Directors includes:
– Chief Kathy Lester, Sacramento, California Police Department, Vice President
– Chief Brian O’Hara, Minneapolis Minnesota Police Department, Secretary
– Commissioner Robert Tracy, St. Louis, Missouri Police Department, Member-At-Large
– Chief Ana Lalley, Elgin, Illinois Police Department, Member-At-Large
– Chief Johnny Jennings, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Member-At-Large
– Chief Constable Adam Palmer, Vancouver Police Department, Ex-Officio Member
