Bicyclist Fatally Injured in Collision on Robin Hill Road

Bicyclist Ronald Laird, 64, died after a collision at Jocelyn Hollow Road and Robin Hill Road.

The bicyclist killed in Tuesday’s 7:15 p.m. collision at the intersection of Jocelyn Hollow Road and Robin Hill Road is identified as Ronald Laird, 64, of Nashville.

The preliminary investigation shows that Laird was traveling north on Robin Hill Road when he cycled through the stop sign and collided with the passenger door of a Kia Optima that was eastbound on Jocelyn Hollow Road. There is no stop sign for Jocelyn Hollow Road, only for Robin Hill Road. Laird, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died.

According to witnesses, the driver appeared to be going the speed limit of 25 mph. There were three other riders with Laird who all said they ran the stop sign prior to the collision. Laird was the last cyclist attempting to cross through the intersection.

Fatal Crash at Knight and Ewing Drives
