Representatives of the Alpha Beta ESA chapter recently presented a $1,000 donation to Wreaths Across Chattanooga (WAC) director, Mickey McCamish. The chapter has been a consistent supporter of WAC, both through volunteer efforts and financial contributions, for several years.
During the 2024 Kickoff Campaign, the chapter’s donation was warmly received by Captain Mickey McCamish, USN Retired, who expressed gratitude for Alpha Beta’s unwavering support. “Wreaths Across Chattanooga wouldn’t have achieved its level of success without the involvement of ESA. No matter what the task, Alpha Beta members are always there placing wreaths, fundraising, donating, and performing administrative tasks,” McCamish stated.
The $1,000 donation will fund the purchase of 100 wreaths to be placed on graves of veterans at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The cemetery is the final resting place for nearly 50,000 veterans. In 2023, donations from various sponsors, businesses, organizations like ESA, and individuals enabled WAC to cover every gravestone for the first time.
Alpha Beta volunteers will be collecting donations for the 2024 WAC campaign on the following Saturdays: September 7 at Elder’s Ace Hardware on Hwy. 58, October 5 at Elder’s Ace Hardware in East Brainerd, and November 2 at the Hixson Walmart. Donations can also be made online to Wreaths Across Chattanooga here.
