From July 17 to July 24, 2024, drivers in West Tennessee should be prepared for possible daytime and nighttime lane closures as construction and repair projects take place across the region’s 21 counties. Below is a detailed schedule of the planned works by district and location.
**District 47:**
– **Carroll County**
– SR-22: Resurfacing from Henderson County Line to near Weatherford Rd. will result in temporary lane closures.
– SR-77: Resurfacing from near McLemoresville Road to the SR22 Bypass in Huntingdon will cause temporary lane closures.
– **Dyer County**
– SR-20: Bridge repair on US 412 over the North Fork Forked Deer River will lead to temporary lane closures. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 12’ lane restriction and a 5’ shoulder. Speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH.
– **Gibson/Carroll County**
– SR-76 (US-79): Construction activities including grading, drainage, and paving from west of Cades-Atwood Road in Gibson County to east of SR 77 in Carroll County will result in temporary lane closures. Detours and road closures are in place for Barker Road, N. Jax Road, and S. Jax Road.
– **Henry/Weakley County**
– SR-22: Resurfacing from the Carroll County Line in Henry County to SR 217 in Weakly County will cause temporary lane closures.
– **Obion County**
– Future I-69 (Phase 3): SR 690 is now open to traffic with reduced speed limits to 45 mph in the southbound lanes. Construction continues on closed ramps.
– **Weakley County**
– SR-445: Safety improvements and resurfacing from Gibson County Line to near Losson Puckett Road will cause temporary lane closures.
**District 48:**
– **Crockett County**
– US-412 (SR-20): Resurfacing with hot-in-place recycling from Birmingham/Lyons Road to US-79 will cause temporary lane closures. One lane will remain open at all times.
– **Haywood County**
– I-40 from MM 60 to 67: Nightly resurfacing will cause lane closures on I-40 in both directions between mile markers 60-67.
– SR 179: Resurfacing with Full-Depth Reclamation from US70 to SR76 will cause temporary lane closures. One lane will remain open at all times.
– SR 222: Inside lane closures both north and southbound from approximately 1600′ north of Stanton Somerville RD to the entrance to the Haywood County Fire Station until August 5, 2024.
**District 49:**
– **Lauderdale County**
– US-51 (SR-3): Resurfacing from SR-88 to the Dyer County Line and the Tipton County Line to SR-19 will cause temporary lane closures. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
– SR-19: Resurfacing from US-51 to Near Eastland Avenue will cause temporary lane closures.
– **Shelby County**
– I-40: Nightly lane closures from near the Wolf River to near Sycamore View Road for resurfacing.
– SR-3: Nightly lane closures from Babe Howard Blvd to the Tipton County Line for resurfacing.
– SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway): Shoulder and lane closures for widening activities. Tracy Rd, Mulberry Rd, and Gragg Rd will be closed with detours in place.
– I-240 at Exit 23 (Airways Blvd): Ongoing lane closures for safety improvements and storm drainage installation until August 1, 2024.
– I-240: Left lane closure from LM 5.00 to LM 8.00 from July 17-19 for cable barrier rail installation.
– I-55/Crump: 11’ width restriction north and southbound. Various lane and ramp closures are active with detours posted.
– SR-57 (Poplar Ave.): Daytime and nightly lane closures eastbound and westbound from Poplar View Pkwy to Eastly Rd for construction activities.
– SR-23 (Walnut Grove Rd): Nightly lane closures for resurfacing from Poplar Ave to I-240.
– **Tipton County**
– US-51 (SR-3) at Kenwood Avenue: Daily inside and outside lane closures for safety improvements. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
