Detectives have charged two additional men in connection with the fatal attack on June 29 in the parking lot of Top Golf on Cowan Street. Roshan Subba-Lawati, 24, and Kishor Tamang-Bhaii, 22, are accused of joining Bishal Rai, 26, in the assault on Dahal Umesh.
Subba-Lawati was apprehended by Specialized Investigations Division detectives, while Tamang-Bhaii surrendered himself after learning he was wanted. Both men face charges of criminal homicide.
The incident occurred during a concert attended by members of Nashville’s Nepali community. A dispute inside the venue led to a confrontation in the parking lot. Umesh, 41, reportedly attempted to defuse the argument when he was punched, causing him to fall and strike his head on the concrete. He was then kicked in the head while on the ground. Umesh succumbed to his injuries on July 2.
Bishal Rai, initially arrested for aggravated assault, will now face an upgraded charge of criminal homicide. Homicide Detective Chris Cote’s ongoing investigation identified Subba-Lawati and Tamang-Bhaii as additional participants in the attack. All three men are currently held at the Downtown Detention Center.
