The State of Tennessee’s annual sales tax holiday weekend is scheduled for Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28. During this period, residents can save nearly 10 percent on qualifying purchases of clothing, school supplies, and computers. Clothing and school supplies priced at $100 or less, and computers priced at $1,500 or less, can be bought tax-free both online and in stores.
Governor Bill Lee emphasized the state’s dedication to fiscal responsibility, noting that these savings are possible due to strong financial management. “I encourage every Tennessee family to take advantage of back-to-school savings and thank the General Assembly for partnering to provide direct financial relief for taxpayers,” Lee stated.
Revenue Commissioner David Gerregano also urged families to utilize the tax-free holiday, highlighting its significance with the school year approaching. “This is the only sales tax holiday this year,” Gerregano added.
