An apparent robbery attempt involving approximately 22 pounds of marijuana led to a shooting on Thursday evening, critically injuring a 22-year-old man. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of Alabama Avenue in Nashville.
West Precinct officers responded to the scene but found no one injured at the location. The victim managed to drive himself to the Mapco at 1507 21st Avenue South in his Dodge Durango, where Midtown Hills Precinct officers provided aid before he was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. The man is expected to recover from his injuries.
Officers also responded to St. Thomas Hospital Midtown, where a second individual had arrived with a gunshot wound to his arm. During their investigation at the Mapco, detectives recovered a handgun and bundles of marijuana from the victim’s vehicle.
