A pedestrian was struck and killed on Saturday night while attempting to cross Gallatin Pike at Walton Lane in Nashville. The victim has been identified as a 48-year-old Nashville man. Authorities are working to notify his next of kin.
According to the preliminary investigation, the incident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. The pedestrian was attempting to cross Gallatin Pike on the south side of the intersection when he was struck by a vehicle. He died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle reported having the green light while traveling through the intersection. Initial assessments indicated no signs of drug or alcohol involvement. The collision took place outside of a designated crosswalk.
