Old Fort Golf Club Reopening After Extensive Renovations

Old Fort Golf Course will reopen on August 30, 2024, after significant upgrades.

Old Fort Golf Course is set to reopen for golfing enthusiasts on Friday, August 30, 2024, following a series of extensive renovations. Golfers can start scheduling their tee times five days in advance, beginning at 7 a.m. on August 25. To reserve a time, visit the Old Fort Golf Club Website or call 615-896-2448.

The Golf Department began the $1.6 million renovation project in January 2024. Significant changes include bunker renovations where the shapes of bunkers were altered, some new bunkers were added, and others were removed.

By mid-March 2024, the course underwent greens renovation, replacing the cool-weather Bent grass with the warm-weather Prizm Zoysia. During this period, the Golf Department closed the entire course to ensure uninterrupted work.

Additionally, a new driving range tee was introduced and opened on Monday, July 15, 2024. The practice tee has been moved approximately 40 yards back to allow golfers to hit woods and drivers over longer distances.

One of the less visible but crucial improvements includes the new drainage system installed under the renovated bunkers. This system ensures a more consistent sand surface, preventing standing water and washouts following rainfall.

For more information or to book a tee time, visit the Old Fort Golf Club Website or call 615-896-2448.
