NASHVILLE, TN (7/17/2024) — Artville, an annual three-day visual art festival in Nashville’s Wedgewood Houston neighborhood, has announced the 2024 public artist award recipients. Now in its second year, this free festival will be held from September 27 to September 29, 2024.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can experience unique site-specific art installations created exclusively for Artville. The 2024 Artville Public Art award recipients receiving awards totaling $150,000 are Beizar Arandini, Ash Atterbury, Jeremiah Britton, Jason Brooks, Amanda Browder, Joe Geis, Jodi Hays, Shabazz Larkin, Marlen Lugo, Duncan McDaniel, Jason Peters, Katrina Sanchez Stanfield, and James Worsham.

Additionally, the Artville Walls project, located at the corner of Chestnut Street and Martin Street in Wedgewood Houston, will feature four new murals from local artists Tracee Badway, Omari Booker, Tess Davies, and German Rojas. This mural project began in 2023 with five murals on the historic Werthan Tile building and will be completed in 2024.

In addition to public art installations, Artville will host the reimagined American Artisan Festival @ Artville on Martin Street. This festival has been a Nashville tradition since 1972 and will feature 75 contemporary craft and fine artists from around the country. Artville is partnering with local Wedgewood Houston galleries, including David Lusk Gallery, Julia Martin Gallery, The Packing Plant, and Zeitgeist, to offer unique programming and highlight their exhibitions throughout the weekend.

The Nashville Free Poetry Library will return with an all-day Zine Fest on Saturday next to the galleries on Hagan Street. The weekend-long festival will also include live music, entertainment, artisanal food, beer, wine, educational panels, artist talks, and free kids’ art programming. Many community partners and sponsors will join Artville in celebrating the community and providing immersive art-inspired experiences.

Artville’s Preview Party will be held on Friday, September 27, from 6 pm to 9 pm at The Finery. This ticketed event will offer the first glimpse of this year’s installations, along with live music, projection mapping, an all-access lounge, and drinks and lite bites. Tickets will be available soon.

Artville is partially funded by the support of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, Hines, Core Development, The Finery, Wedgewood Village, Memoir Residential, and Hal and Jodi Hess. Sponsors include Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Vanderbilt University, Maslow Nashville, Monkucky, SESAC, and Bearded Iris Brewing.
