The festival begins on Thursday, September 19, at the historic Belcourt Theatre with “DEVO” screening at 3:30 p.m., followed by “REBEL COUNTRY” at 6 p.m. The event concludes on Wednesday, September 25, at 6 p.m. with “THIS IS A FILM ABOUT THE BLACK KEYS.”

It features artists such as Lil Nas X, Beyoncé, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Breland, Blanco Brown, Sam Williams, Brooke Eden, and Frank Ray, alongside historical footage and contributions from musicians, historians, and journalists.
Directed by Jeff Dupre, “THIS IS A FILM ABOUT THE BLACK KEYS” chronicles the journey of The Black Keys from their beginnings in Akron, Ohio, to their rise to stardom. It explores the relationship between band members Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney.
Lauren Thelen, Programming Director of NashFilm, expressed excitement about the documentaries chosen for this year’s festival. She highlighted the intimate look these films provide into the journeys and trials of fame.
