NASHVILLE – Anton Rucker, a 47-year-old resident of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for the unlawful possession of ammunition and a firearm related to two separate incidents. This announcement was made by Henry C. Leventis, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Rucker, a previously convicted felon, faces charges for possessing ammunition linked to a shooting incident at Roasted restaurant in Salemtown on March 31, 2024. The event, which occurred on Easter Sunday, resulted in the death of one man and injuries to several others. In connection with this incident, Rucker has also been charged by the State of Tennessee with Criminal Homicide.
Additionally, Rucker has been indicted for unlawfully possessing a firearm following a road rage incident on August 26, 2023, in Murfreesboro. According to the indictment, Rucker overtook another vehicle on a double yellow line, cut off the driver, and forced him to brake abruptly to avoid a collision. Rucker then stopped his car, confronted the other driver, and brandished a firearm. A subsequent search of Rucker’s residence by Murfreesboro Police detectives revealed multiple firearms.
The investigation of this case involves the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Murfreesboro Police Department, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary T. Hinkle is handling the prosecution.
It is important to note that a criminal complaint and an indictment are merely allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
