Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) will offer fare-free rides throughout Election Day on Thursday, August 1, 2024, to support voter turnout and ensure easy access to polling stations.
“Access to transportation is crucial for voter participation,” said Isaac Thorne, Director of Transit for the City of Knoxville. “We want to remove any barriers that might prevent people from getting to the polls.”
Passengers can plan their route to the polling stations using the free Transit app, the trip planner feature on KATBus.com, or by contacting KAT’s customer service at 865-637-3000.
KAT advises passengers to plan their trips early to ensure they reach their polling locations, as some routes may finish before polling stations close.
