Investigation Underway for Vandalized Rainbow Crosswalk

East Precinct seeks help identifying a suspect who vandalized a rainbow crosswalk.

The East Precinct’s Investigations Unit is actively working to identify the individual responsible for vandalizing a newly created rainbow crosswalk at the intersection of S. 14th and Woodland Streets. The crosswalk was established last Saturday to mark the end of Pride Month.

Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing a white Ford van at the location. At approximately 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, the van’s driver, a white male wearing a black t-shirt, poured a container of black paint over the crosswalk.

Authorities are requesting assistance from the public to identify the driver or provide any information about the van. Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
