Youth Services detectives are continuing their investigation into the drowning death of 4-year-old Mariam Jabateh, which occurred Thursday evening at an apartment complex pool on Arbor Knoll Boulevard. According to reports, Jabateh’s mother had left her on the steps of the pool for only a few seconds before people began shouting that she was drowning.
Emergency services transported Jabateh to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident to gather more details.
