In a significant development, the identity of a woman found in the Cumberland River in Nashville in 1998 has been confirmed. The woman, identified as Diane Minor, was discovered near Cleeses Ferry on March 18, 1998. She was 54 years old at the time of her death and had sustained two gunshot wounds to her head.
The identification was made possible through the efforts of Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG) with assistance from the MNPD Crime Lab, Bode Lab, and the DNA Doe Project. Minor, who was known as the Leo Jane Doe due to a necklace with a Leo Zodiac symbol, was last known to be a manager at the Second Story Café in Nashville during the early 1990s. Notably, no missing person report had been filed for her.
