Update: The woman found Sunday morning has been identified as Jamani Parker, 20. The Medical Examiner’s preliminary autopsy revealed she was fatally shot. The homicide investigation is ongoing.
Homicide Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a woman found unresponsive this morning on the Alta Lake Greenway trailhead off Dodson Chapel Road. The woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, was discovered by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees with a possible gunshot wound to the head.

She was transported to the hospital where she died. She has yet to be identified.

Homicide Sergeant Injured in Head-On Collision
Homicide Sergeant Trevor VonDohlen of the MNPD was seriously injured in a head-on collision on Bell Road involving a vehicle driven by Carlos D. Atilano, who died at the scene.
