Apparent Murder-Suicide Claims Two Lives in Nashville

A couple was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Nashville.

The two individuals who died in an apparent murder-suicide early Saturday morning outside a residence on Cato Road have been identified as Heather Nelson, 42, and her boyfriend, Christopher Minchey, 51.

According to the investigation, Minchey and Nelson were involved in a heated argument before Minchey fatally shot Nelson and then turned the gun on himself. A witness reported that Nelson had walked to the end of the driveway with Minchey following her. Gunshots were heard, and the witness saw Nelson fall forward to the ground, followed by Minchey. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Domestic Violence Division of the police department confirmed that there had been no prior involvement with the couple.
